Orchard

Orchard was a part of every garden in the past, whether of a farmstead, a farm or a cottage. Orchards differed in size and species composition. Most often, they included apple, pear and plum trees, but interesting and less frequent varieties could be found as well. Fruits were used in various ways, from storage for winter to juice making, drying, bottling, use in cake baking, the production of fruit jams and ending with fruit brandy. In these days, trees are often attacked by various pests and their fruits are more or less devalued. This is why trees require regular treatment and increased care. The use of original more resistant varieties is one of the possibilities of natural and environment-friendly cultivation of fruit trees.
